taking the time....

In between the the drives to and fro...
The hunt for a missing running shoe...
The never ending slam of the screen door...
The plea for cold drinks...
And "what's for supper?"...
We still make time for a ramble alongside an old homestead...
Collecting wild sweet peas....
 Favorite leaves....
Playing hide and seek in the grass...
And an afternoon of a ride on the horse....
Sleep comes easy for these girls at night....
As it does for myself, as well!

i could feel heat from the horse, could smell him, too. these photos are wonderful. loved seeing the sweetpeas as well (we don't have them here).

a book i read a couple months ago (the claiming ground by laura bell) (i bet you'd like it- a female sheepherder from wyoming writing her memoirs) talked about the parents of the author staying so young. when she asked her parents how they stayed so young they said 1) don't talk about your ailments and 2) spend some of your time around kids.

so there ya go! erryo
