Surprise!

The other morning when I got home from a night at the beach house,
this is what I found waiting behind the gate in the front field...
...this is NOT one of our 2 goats.
Tom said he had come home from a meeting at around 8 o'clock and this
little billy goat was just sitting there...
Someone put him in the field and closed both gates.
They must have found him wandering on the road and thought he was one of ours.
He's just a small little guy...a pygmy goat.
Whoever owns him obviously doesn't know that goats seem to
channel Houdini. They can get in and out of ANYTHING!
If they can get their head through it, then rest of body will follow.
One thing about this goat was that he was a bit lame from his
hooves being left untrimmed. Goats need their feet looked after regularly
or else it will affect them gravely.
he had the cutest little horns and was very tame.
But we have too much going on right now to adopt another goat and maybe his
owners are missing him. So we called the animal control people to come and get him.
Officer 'Rob' said that he did have a report of someone who was missing 2 goats.
They were reported quite a distance from us but who knows...goats can travel through the
bush pretty good. If this was one of those goats, who knows what happened to the other.
So here's hoping this little billy is lost and found.

I do hope someone loves him and will trim his hooves.

I'm sure his" hooman" parents will come and save him.
