If asked who I would like to meet of any person, living or not
hands down it would be Jane Goodall.
Aside from being an incredible voice for the saviour of primates
around the world, I think she would be most interesting to spend a day with.
At 77 years old, she still traipses around the jungle for hours,
crouching amongst the chimpanzees, as well as
traipsing around the world to bring education to everyone
from small children to some of the top governmental officials around.
It amazes me what she has achieved in her life as a person
without a scientific background.
It is only through her passion to connect with our closest living
relative, that she has accomplished what she has.
And so my little tribute...

interview from 60 Minutes a few weeks ago.
If I had a chance to sit and sip tea with Dame Goodall,
I think I would like to ask her about her childhood and what
inspired her to go out and do the things she did.
Imagine being a young, white British woman and
deciding to go off roaming the jungles of Africa!
What ever her drive, we are all the better for it.

I've always admired Jane Goodall, and would likely ask her way too many questions if i ever had the marvelous fortune to meet her! Your Jane is so very special. Furry lovely sweetheart. Love her. Love both Janes dearly..
I like your little Jane - she gave me a chuckle! I also am a huge admirer of Jane Goodall. When I was much younger, my fantasy life involved traipsing off to the jungle to work with some type of animal!

When I was about ten I wanted to be Jane Goodall when I grew up. I had cut out all the National Geographic pictures of her, put them on poster board and hung it in my room. She was and still IS one of my heroes.
Oh Kerry! I think you would love her book "A Reason for Hope." She talks about her childhood, WWII and how she ended up in Gombe. It's one of my favorite biographies. I'd send you mine but I loaned it out and I can't remember to whom!

I was lucky enough to see her speak. She and Dian Fossey and Birute Galdikas. Chimps, gorillas and orangs. About 30 years ago and I still remember it.
