Sunday morning walk...

This morning we woke to clear skies and I took the opportunity
to take a walk in the neighbourhood...
Up the street to Monarch Park, the sound of skates on ice in the Shinny rink...
Views of the skyline through winter trees...
 Lovely milkweed pods...
Signs of last summers wasps, their humming long silenced now...
...and always the old houses on the side streets pull at my heart strings...
Such beauty of a different kind than where I live.
(even Tom is enjoying the winter chores!)

It must be exciting to explore the city when it's covered under a magic mantle of snow. Love the photo of the house with all the icicles.
Happy New Year to you and yours.

When i see pictures like these, i miss the snow. It makes places look sort of.. enchanting. I love these side streets in the photos. They remind me a little of Boston's side streets and city neighborhoods..
