Experimenting...

I saw a book online about combining wet felting, machine and hand stitching
and of course I had to give it a go.
I started with some cream white for the 'canvas'...
I then began to lay out the other 'paint colours'...
After the usual business with soap, warm water and plenty
of arm work, the fun part came of seeing how it looked...
Hard to tell right now but I was loosely basing the
design on the land where my heart lies...Ireland.
I put my grandmas old sewing machine to work and
laid down some stitch outlines...
It still didn't have the depth and texture I wanted so out
came the felting needles.
I like how the extra bits of wool I felted on by hand came out...
Do you see the little sheep in the meadow and the roses tumbling over the rock walls?
So far so good...I may tweak it a bit more but it was a lot of fun trying something new.
The gnomes seemed to enjoy the view as well!
