Song for Friday...once again

Keeping with the celebration of St Paddy's Day...

I know I've posted music from Dubliner, Lisa Hannigan before,
But I must again...she's so lovely!
Just can't get enough of her words and music...

..."i keep you in the pockets of my dresses
and the bristles of my brushes
spin you into my curls today

I spoon you into my coffee cup,
spin you through a delicate wash
I wear you all day"

Have a grand weekend all.

A lovely poem for the day...

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;
Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a-glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

Lucky me!

Photographs have a way of preserving life.
How incredible is it that we can bring back a time, a place, a person,
just by looking at a piece of paper or a screen!
These are some of the myriad of images that dance through my dreams, both sleeping and while awake.
They remind me of a place where my heart lies.
Of a journey with my dad and a visit to be with my daughter.
Luck has kissed me more than once.
This was one of those times.
During these days of chaos and devastation all around the world,
it's the deep
and meaningful,
priceless memories of times and places,
with people I love, that bring me comfort.
Gives me a sense of peace.
Reminding me how blessed I am.

Happy St Patrick's Day, all.

I've got mail!

I'm down with a cold/flu bug and dragged my but to the mailbox...
Then, as I opened my compartment, there it was!
That big, golden stamp from the U.K!
I felt better already!
I had ordered something a while back off of etsy, but knowing it was coming from overseas,
I put it in the back drawer of my minds file cabinet.
It's return address was bla-bla -bla...Stoke-on-Trent.
Gotta love those U.K place names.
Anyway, here's what came in the post...
This lovely print of three of my favorite things:
Owls, foxes and knarly trees in the woods.
Such talent does this girl have!
Oh, her name you ask?
An extremely gifted illustrator who also keeps a lovely blog; here...
Of course, you have to see this print in real life to appreciate it, but I had to share it with you in this post.
She also sent along a lovely note card to say hello and hoped that the print made it safely...
Cheers, Valerie...arrived safe and sound.
Can't wait to put it in a vintage frame and hang it in the studio for inspiration!

Movie review...piff, paff, puff!

Have you seen this film?
We are lucky to have a local library full of some excellent choices.
This is one of them.
A touching story about a woman and her love of family and photography in the early 1900's Sweden.
Intimate...elegant...powerful.
A film full of the most exquisite imagery and beautiful music.

Evoloution 1 and 2...

From this...
into this...
add some of these...
sculpt a bit more...
and this is what you get...
This is 'Hadiah'
Malay for 'gift'.
Made for Tate...
Another work of art evolved from love...
From tiny beginnings come great things.
