From here...

From here I wish I could reach across an ocean and hold my daughter tight.
Although my daughter has lived far from home for many years (in Paris now)
I still am a mother who loves and wishes she could protect her.
It's the same from the day she was born.
It will always be that way.
What a deep breath I took after she let me know that they are OK.
I am not even going to try to make sense of any of this madness.
I am angry and so so sad about this mess.
As the singer Danny Michele says..."It's a sad and beautiful world."
Through the news we will hear many tragic tales but
I know there will be many more tales of love and beauty.
The light in Paris will be dim for now but will never be extinguished.
It is still a city I love and the magic of it's people and my memories
of being there will remain as bright as always.
I am sending all my love and light to the people of France
and to all who have been sadly touched by this madness.

Song for Friday...My oh My!!!

Today is the day she was born.
Today is the day I remember 33 years ago, a cold, rainy night,
a taxi ride to the hospital.
The night I saw the sweetest face I'd ever seen.
The night I began a journey that has taken
my heart to so many places.
I feel so blessed to know this person...
she's smart, she's beautiful, she's funny, she knows laughter
and she knows love...how to give and how it came to her.
I love you my sweet baby girl...
Happy Birthday....may your 33rd year bring
you a world of adventures!

This, one of those songs that reminds me of her...
Have a great weekend all...especially you Aja!!

One more thing!

O.K, O.K....I know I've posted about the wedding several times
and I just have one more post ceremony one to go.
After all, she is my only child and this was another one of those
snips of the umbilical cord.
I suppose that's why it's so long!
All of these milestones for parents to go through makes for many cuts along the way.
So following the ceremony and the few toasts in the yard, we all
piled into our waiting transportation to the reception...
A trolley car complete with clanging bells!
The kids (young and old!) loved it...

 Ready for the ride?
One more kiss!
All aboard!
Outside the reception venue I took a bunch of fun photos of the bridal party...
Jazz hands everyone!
Everybody kiss the bride!
Ah, so sweet!
Sharing a few more laughs
Bliss!
Best Buds!
All the pretty feet...
Now for the lads...
And altogether now!

Found this car in the parking lot...how fitting!

the love you take
is equal to
 the love you make."

What a day....part 3...the nuptials...

Arriving at the house for the ceremony was my cue to leave the camera behind.
Aja and Paul requested that during that time, EVERYONE leave their
cameras alone and turn off their cell phones so we could all
be present with them.
This song played for them as the ceremony started.
They hired one photographer to take pictures.
Brilliant.
In this day and age of insta-everything, it was refreshing to be in a phone free environment.
So on that note, I will let every picture tell a story...
Love really does shine doesn't it?!
