U of T...

Good Monday morning!
Since for some, this would be a school day, I thought I
would share with you some of the photos I took at
The University of Toronto.
It was a snowy morning when we decided to go for a walk,
past the museum...which we didn't have time to visit this time...
The parks were covered in a pretty coating of white...
The U of T was founded as Kings College in 1827 and some
of it's finest buildings date back to this period...
Craftsmanship took top priority in these days and the evidence is quite evident don't you think?
I love all the points on the various towers in this, including the most modern
CN Tower far in the background.
Inside it was very quiet and empty since it was the holidays.
This library is on my wish list when I build my
"money is no object" house...
The leaded glass windows gave beautiful views through to the outer beauty of the buildings...
A peak through old, warbled glass into one of the faculty lounges...
Even some of the out buildings, though small and rustic, were quite pretty...
My daughter said that if she had known how historic and beautiful this campus was
she would have gone here instead of UBC.
I said if you could combine the view of UBC and the architecture of U of T
it would be ideal. I really do believe the look and feel of a place contributes to how
much you want to be there. The atmosphere of history and beauty must
at some point give way to deep thinking and appreciation of the space around you.
I've been here in the early spring and winter and now I would like to
see it in all of it's autumn colour.
For now, one more photo in the snowy trees with Aja...U of T...a beautiful place in the city.

Greetings!

Hello from the city!
We've been here now for a week, enough time to have
a few adventures and take many photos.
it's been snowing here in Toronto and what a way to pretty things up.
Many walks through the neighbourhoods, loving the architecture of the old homes...
We don't have a lot of brick houses out west and I always love to marvel at them when I come here.
Hows this for a contrast of age and style...the old fire hall in Yorkville...
Another thing we don't have on our Island is the streetcars and even better,
dogs on the streetcars!...
A trip to Toronto wouldn't be complete without a few trips to St Lawrence market.
This is a foodies paradise.
You want it - they've got it!!
Cheese heaven!!
Mustard land!
 Antipasto city!
The variety of meats and fish and produce is enough to make anyone want to indulge...
We brought home our fare share of tidbits for a tasty feast last night...
So for now I bid you adieu, with full stomach and my further adventures to continue.
