Last night August closed her door and left us in awe to gaze at the blue moon.
A fitting exit and an inspiring opening to the beginning of September
Once a month I volunteer at the Kids Garden club here in Sooke and
what a better way to embrace the harvest time of year, with
the kids making their own scare crows.
It's quite simple, really...
First the kids drew a face on a head and stuffed it with hay.
Looking good Isabella!
Let the stuffing begin!!
Nick made sure his was packed!
"if I only had a brain..."
Up and ready to scare!
Even Ernie was in on the action...
Next it was onto making potatoe heads...
It's really quite simple with a few good craft bits and some colourful head pins...
the possibilities are endless!
ta da!...gold hula skirt!
Zen like inspired!
praying mantis / dinosaur hybrid...
Time for a group photo...
WOW! Thats a lot of scare crows!
And everyone with as much personalities as their maker...
Lovely leggings!
"spot of tea m'dear?"..."oh I'd love some!"
This one had my vote for the scariest of all...
Great job, Emily and River!
So we shall stand them in the gardens and the fields
to keep watch over our upcoming bounty.
One will even stand gaurd at the flower shop!
Happy September!
