The other night we watched the most incredible documentary
about a man who was a singer songwriter of Mexican descent in the early '70s in Detroit.
In North America he was nobody.
But in South Africa he was bigger than Elvis.
Everybody had his records.
You had The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and...
Rodriguez.
But he didn't know anything about his fame.
Rodriguez was like a mix of Dylan and Donavon.
Rodriguez was like a mix of Dylan and Donavon.
Singer songwriter extraordinaire.
His lyrics, even today are poignant, political, full of heartache and beauty.
He was reported to have committed suicide.
...and then the search began.
...and they found him!
40 years later.
His story is amazing.
If you get a chance to see "Searching for Sugarman" you won't be disappointed.
Here's the trailer followed by one of his songs.
Have a great weekend all!
