If you haven't had a chance to see this series, you simply must...
Right now it's being aired on our local Knowledge Network but it was on BBC last year and I'm sure through the magic of the Internet you can watch it online.
A fantastic journey by three people back in time.
Everything must be done exactly as it was in the Victorian days.
The tools, the cleaning, the cooking, the raising of livestock, the gardening, the farming.
It will make you appreciate all of the modern conveniences, but it will also make you want to go out and buy yourself a kerosene lantern and a draft horse.
Here's a little taste...

Fascinating! I will have to see if I can find it on our public television channels.
I love programs like this. Hopefully it won't turn into a complaint/survivalist kind of show.
Sometimes when you put modern people into a historic situation they start comparing and complaining about the lack of modern conveniences and not having, for instance, Kotex... which must be hard, but that's the whole point of recreating this historic life.
I have seen one from Canada which I loved. A re-creation of farming in,if I remember right, south-west Saskatchewan. But, as good as it was, they complained too much about not having modern conveniences.
This one sounds so good. You always learn something from these programs.
Thanks for the heads up....
Have a look at Snowdonia 1890 on iplayer
