In the city...sort of....

So, I live in the country, amongst red barn buildings.
I step in unpleasant little brown things when I walk through the barnyard.
I hear the crows of roosters at 4 in the morning.
Gumboots are my footwear most days.
So why when I take my niece to the city why do we end up at the petting zoo?
Amongst the red barn buildings, stepping in unpleasant little brown things, roosters crowing but wearing flip flops this day....
Probably because of her....
This is Annie...
She's about a week old...
Probably the cutest little thing I've seen in a long time. That's her mom Opal giving her a snack.
She lives at the petting zoo in Beacon Hill Park along with a herd of teeny tiny goats...
I know...it's hard to decide which one is cuter...
Lunch time!
Nap time...
Happy hour...
Munch time.
The peacocks were out in all their glory....
Trying their best to attact this little lady...
Except for this young male who was obviously not interested in his own kind but seemed to have a thing for this duck, who wasn't paying any attention what so ever...
No matter how much he shook his tail feathers she would not turn around!
The old 'playing hard to get' trick.
This sweet little horse named Peanut Butter spent a few winters at our house with her foal, Jelly...
I'm glad my teenage niece didn't think she was 'too old' for the park and the petting zoo.
It was a wonderful part of our day...
Of course we went shopping after wards to find her that PERFECT summer dress...
As well as lunch and cake at Murchies.
But the park and the zoo...how magical!

What a lovely day. Your photos are beautiful and, of course, the animals are so photogenic and in your face. Animals are such a wonderful subject for the camera.
Hope the Peacock finds a mate soon.

O.K. I was cracking up at you talking about going to the city and going to the petting zoo! But how could you resist Annie! She is seriously "eyes watering" adorable! It makes me want one! (Not so practical in Hollywood.)
